Partisan Rangers

My Great Grandfather, George C. Vandiver signed into the 13/16th Ga Calvary soon after the war commenced.

Receiving authority to assemble a mounted Regiment, Col. A.A.Hunt recruited under provisions of the Partisan Ranger's act, Company E, from Jefferson, Jackson County, Captain William C. Marler. There are indications that Co. E. of the Partisan Rangers became part of the 13th/16th Battalion, Georgia Calvary.

I at one time was a subscriber to Fold 3, and assessed George C. Vandiver's combined service record. Unfortunately there was only one sheet surviving in George C. Vandiver's record. The sheet indicates that George C. enlisted in the 13th/16th Ga. Calvary at Clarkesville, Georgia, but his residence was in Jackson County, Georgia. If anyone has data as to whether or not the Partisian Rangers e 13/16th Battalion, Georgia Calvary.

I have seen indications that the 13th/16th Calvary accompanied Colonel John Hunt Morgan on his 1st Raid. If anyuone can help me it will be greatly appreciated.
