John Porter

Seeking any info on John Porter. John and his 2 brothers all enlisted in the Civil War at Antioch, Troup Co., GA on 9 July 1861. They were to take the train to Richmond, VA 9 days later to be mustered in. Only David A., and James Porter were mustered in at VA. There is absolutely no record of John Porter after 9 July 1861. John would have been about 18 years old. Cannot find John Porter buried in Troup Co., GA either. When I sent for his Military Papers it had a completely different John Porter who was from Forsythe Co., GA and killed in the Civil War. I am thinking that John Porter became ill on the train and was put off to stay with a farmer and he died there. Are there any records about this. According to John Porter's mother and younger brother he went off to War and never came home. All 3 brothers joined Co. F, 21st Regt. Infantry. John Boykin, Capt.
