Lynn,

I had a great-great-great uncle wounded @ Chickamauga, and he ended
up in an Atlanta hospital a few days later. This was not indicated in his
Compiled Service Records (CSR), but I accidentally found his name in the Atlanta
newspaper a week or so after the battle listed on an Atlanta hospital roll.

As for your relative, I checked his CSR and there is no mention as to where he
was treated, and died. You might have to check all the cemeteries w/Confederate
burials from Chickamauga down to Atlanta. He could have made it to Atlanta, died,
and possibly buried in Oakland Cemetery. Or he might be buried in the Marietta
Confederate Cemetery. He may have died on or near the Chickamauga battlefield,
buried in an unmarked grave.

Have you checked with the folks at the Chickamauga National Military Park? They
might have some leads in their park service library.

Its going to be a needle in a haystack.

I wish you well in your pursuit.

Sincerely,

Greg
