His file contains a letter from the Adjutant General, War Department and the Commissioner of Georgia Pensions dated January 13, 1916 which makes note: “No record of his death has been found.”

Such correspondence usually indicates that the person in question or a survivor had applied for a Confederate pension. It would be interesting to identify the person applying to the Georgia Pension Commission in this case.
