……..

L. W. Myers, 2nd Corporal, Captain Bradshaw’s Independent Company, Ringgold Rangers,** enlisted May 15,1862 at Ringgold, Ga. by Capt. A C. Bradshaw for the war, recorded on the Jul/Aug, 1862 muster roll as absent, on special duty, paroled at Salisbury, N. C. June 12, 1865 as 2nd Lieut., Co. C. Bradshaw’s Batt. Georgia Cavalry

Note, his record contains correspondence between the Adjutant General, War Department, with the Georgia Commissioner of Pensions, dated May 29, 1916

“The records show that L. W. Myers, private, 1st Co. H, 26th Tennessee Infantry, CSA (which became Co. I, 1st Confederate Infantry, also known as the 1st Confederate Georgia Vols.), enlisting July 14, 1861, and that he was dropped from the rolls by reason of enlisted in Co. K, 12th Georgia Cavalry, CSA. He served as 2nd corporal in said Co. K, and enlisted therein May 15, 1862. It was formerly known as Captain Bradshaw’s Independent Company, Ringgold Rangers, CSA. His name last appears on the roll of Co. K for July and August, 1862 (the only roll on which borne), which show him absent on special duty. No later record of him has been found. Last roll of the company on file is that for November and December, 1864.”***

** This company subsequently became Company K, 12th Regiment Georgia Cavalry

*** I would believe this would indicate that during this intervening period he had been dropped from the rolls for some unknown reason. A review of his Georgia pension application might contain his subsequent service.
