I have found reference to the 85th Regt Georgia Militia. According to what I found, this unit was formed in Henry County, GA, 5 March 1862. The officers of this unit were listed as: Col. F.L. Adams, Lt. Col. William Lowe, Maj. Robert Sandifer, Judge Adv. G.M. Nolan, Quartermaster Q.R. Nolan, Surgeon W.H. Peebles, and Capt. R. M. Everitt. It was known as the Home Guard of Henry County. Is anyone familiar with this unit and is the unit designation correct?
