Noted Dalton based Civil War author Robert Jenkins, will be in Atlanta this coming weekend for a lecture and a tour of part of the Peachtree Creek battlefield. He will be speaking at the Atlanta History Center on Saturday, July 19th, at 2:00 the Kennedy Theater. Also, he will be at the Tanyard Creek Park on Collier Mill Road in Atlanta giving tours of that portion of the Peachtree Creek battlefield on Sunday, July 20th, at 1:00 and 4:00 and selling books there an hour before each tour.

Jenkins is the author of the recent book on the Battle of Peachtree Creek, the first detailed study of John Bell Hood's first attack against Sherman after assuming command of the Army of Tennessee.
