Elbert M. Bowers, enlisted June 11, 1861 at Atlanta, Ga., died in hospital with Typhoid Fever, April 20, 1862 at Ashland, Virginia, his widow Mary A. Bowers filed claim* for settlement of his accounts March 7, 1863, amount found due $68.33, his file contains correspondence between the Adjutant General, War Department, with the Commissioner of Georgia Pensions dated October 12, 1915**

** [Note: This would seem to indicate that someone filed for a Confederate pension at the time, widow, dependent child??]
