Historical Walking Tour, Cumming's Brigade

Ladies and Gentlemen,

For those of you in the Tennessee / Georgia area, I will be leading a Historical Walking Tour on Missionary Ridge in and around the Sherman Reservation (intersection of North Crest Road and Lightfoot Mill Road) on November 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM. This is not part of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park's 150th Anniversary programs. They have revamped the programs this year and it will not include what we have jointly done in the past so, therefore, I am doing a separate program.

Expect the walk to take two hours. I will be available longer after the event. The walk will be on paths, roads, and through the field of the reservation so you will need to wear walking shoes. The distance is approximately 1.5 miles and there is a slight grade to the walk. The tour will take place rain or shine so please dress appropriately for the weather conditions of the day. There are no latrine facilities at the reservation or nearby. Please bring water or snacks that you might need but remember to take your trash with you.

Parking is very limited so please carpool as much as your group can and do not leave valuables in your automobile. The area has a higher crime rate than normal suburbia. Remember that weapons are not allowed on Federal property.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

Gerald D. Hodge, Jr.
