Since this is the 150th anniversary of the war in Mississippi which my Ggrandfather and 5 of his brothers all served, in the 29th GA Vol Inf. In their honor here is what I know, James W. Jones, Co. B, died 30 Aug 1863, Lockhart, MS.,chronic diarrhea. George W Jones Co.B captured at Nashville, TN 16 Dec 1864, POW at Camp Douglas, IL., released 19 Jun 1965. Gilbert W Jones Co G., Sep. 1862 AOL. Pension app. states he was captured at Nashville, TN. Dec 1864, POW at Camp Douglas and released 19 Jun 1865, same as Geo. W., died in Franklin Co., GA 6 Jun 1926. Guilford M Jones Co G died at Clinton MS. 20 Jul 1863. Henry H Jones Co G captured at Chickamauga, GA 19 Sep 1863, died at Camp Morton, IN 18 Feb 1865 of chronic diarrhea.buried in Green lawn Cem. grave #1432. Francis C Jones Co B, wounded in 4th toe of right foot necessitating amputation at Resaca, GA 14 May 1864, paroled at Augusta, GA 25 May 1865, died Chamblee, GA. 8 Mar 1936, buried at Crestlawn Cem., Atlanta, GA, plot B, Joe Johnston Hill.
