W. H. McClure, Private, Capt. Thomas Williams' Company, 36th Regiment Georgia Infantry,* enlisted May 10, 1862 in Pickens County by Thos. Williams for the war, paid $50 bounty June 1, died in hospital, Vicksburg, Miss., June 24, 1863, his widow Desuras McClure (only heir) filed claim for settlement of his accounts August 27, 186_

Buried Soldiers Rest, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Vicksburg City Cemetery under the name W. H. McClore, Company L, 36th Georgia , died 24 Jun 1863, Potter's Hill Field Grave No. 95 [Note, location of these graves no longer known as the original Cypress markers long ago disintegrated, however, VA thombstones were placed in the late 1970s in sections by state of unit]
