Steve,

Besides this data previously posted by George Martin:

James Bice, Private, Company K, 19th Georgia Infantry, admitted C. S. A. General Hospital, No. 11, Charlotte, North Carolina, April 28, 1865 with Feb. Int. (Intermittent Fever/Malaria), sent on to another unspecified hospital, April 29, no other records

Note: There are no muster rolls in the files for Company K. There are records of issues of clothing up through September 30, 1864. In as much as there is no card signifying he receipted for clothing, we must assume he enlisted sometime after Sept. 30, 64

There are no additional records on Private James Bice.
Due to the lack of regimental books. There was a "Regimental Return"(dated Jan/Feb 1862) for the 19th Georgia. But it does not list all soldiers for some reason. Usually if they were detached, detailed, died, sick, deserted, recruiting ect..

The regimental books for the Nineteenth Georgia were lost.Possiby in Virginia. I found one account of the lost company book for (company B 19th Georgia)

Sergeant Benjamin B. Clark, Co. "G" 12th New Hampshire Vols.

While the regiment halts with it's brigade a few moments on "Tree Hill",
Sgt. Clark wrote down a few notes on the battle that he had just witnessed in Richmond.
"I write this on a leaf of a company book of the Nineteenth Georgia, Company B"

There is no Private James Bice listed for Company "K" 2nd Regiment Infantry,4th Brigade(Georgia
State Troops)on the muster & payroll at Camp McDonald {June 11-Aug.2,1861)
