Re: John B. Murray - Co. B, 36th Villepique's GA I

I have been unable to locate a regimental history. I would assume that they were assigned for the protection of Fort Barranca's marine battery guarding the entrance to Pensacola Bay. Warrington itself, is across Bayou Grande on the mainland, about 5 miles SW from Pensacola. Fort Pickens is just across the passage on Santa Rosa Island. I am not sure, but believe the Pensacola Navy Yard, also called the Warrington Navy Yard, was located where the present Naval Air Station is.

John B. Murray, enlisted 18 March 1861 and was discharged on 14 July 1861 (Barranca Barracks, Warrington, Florida)

The Field & Staff was stationed on April 16, 1861 at Warrington, near Pensacola Navy Yard, Florida; on June 30, 1861 they were located at Camp Walker near Pensacola, which Company B states is near Warrington, Florida; on July 32, 1861 Company A was stationed at Camp Walker and Company B reports at Warrington, near Pensacola

A Goggle search: Barrancas Barracks, Florida will provide you much more information
