Re: 9th Georgia Infantry Regiment

I knew I had seen the reference to Americus somewhere...from Henderson's
MUSTER ROLL OF COMPANY K, 9th REGIMENT
GEORGIA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY
ARMY NORTHERN VIRGINIA
C. S. A.
SUMTER COUNTY, GEORGIA
("AMERICUS VOLUNTEER RIFLES")

Officers:

King, James M D. Captain June 11, 1861 . Wounded at 2d
Manassas, Va. August 30, 1862 . Wounded at Gettysburg, Pa. and
captured there July 5, 1863 . Died from wounds at Johnson's
Island, O. November 4, 1863 . Buried there in Grave #96. (Other rec-
ords show he is buried at Americus, Ga.)

As we all know, Henderson's is a great source, but there are mistakes......
