Ive wondered about that too, But it was only part of the regiment at Dalton, the rest were in Chattanooga. I think 4 companies. So whether the colors were with them at Dalton or with the group at Chattanooga is unknown. I havent seen anything from either side that refer to them losing them at Dalton.
