I'm not sure if this one will be considered worthy of Shawn's list of captured Union battle flags, but I certainly found the story interesting. W. J. Fisher presented this information to the local Lions Club. He was one of the last three surviving members of the local G.A.R. post. The article is from the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, dated May 27, 1931.
