For the past several years, I have been working with the Adj. Gen's of both MS and IL to have the 46th MS flag repatriated to the state, most probably to be installed as a 'centerpiece' in the Mississippi Military Museum at Camp Shelby south of Hattiesburg. These things take time and patience. It will also cost upwards of $10k to have the flag professionally preserved. It is in very good shape for its age, circumstances, etc. but does need preservation work performed.
