I think I posted on here awhile ago, the Union flag captured at New Creek.

On June 19th, 1861, Colonel A.P Hill took his regiment (13th Virginia) and detached two companies. Colonel Vaughn and his 3rd Tennessee also detached two companies. With these four companies they marched 18 miles to New Creek, WVA. On the B&O.

The flag they captured was the "50th Maryland Militia", plus two artillery piece. I believe that is the first Union flag captured "in action" in the "East".

Have a good morning!
