I am a civil war re-enactor from the 17th TN Co K consolidated and now the 23rd TN Co. E. In the search for the 23rd's flag, we discovered that Iowa had confederate flags. I have checked your site several times and this is the first time a list of what flags you have has been available!!!

Would you have any Hardee, Polk or Van Dorn flags from TN units? Do you know which Yankee units captured the flags and where? I see that Gregg has identified some of them!

I haven't sorted out what flags were captured where or by whom yet. I have searched in TN and have one of the guys searching in his captured flags book. Wouldn't it be funny if the thing is right here in Iowa!? We know what the flags look like....except for a possible company flag, just wondering if anything was added to them and where they are.

When is your next ceremony to the confederate and Yankee flags? Our unit was asked to come in Feb. I was unable to come and I'm not sure how many made it or if the 32rd/24th Iowa were able to make it. Our unit usually honors the dead at Rock Island on Memorial Day.
