The main, and seemingly only, source for the capture of this flag
remains the newspaper articles covering its return in 1925.
I have found nothing related to the Color Guard at Cold Harbor other
than the above mentioned articles.
The reputed flagstaff of the 10th La. survives at the 5th Maine Museum
on Peak's Island, Maine. The history of this staff is also a mystery.
