Hello,

I was apprised of this flag a year ago when it was bought from a Swiss auction house. I did some research for the owner and pretty much what the Heritage notes state are accurate. Boyd did not wave a flag leading any Confederate charge at Front Royal; several accounts including her own state it was her bonnet.

The flag is made of cotton and is probably a patriotic banner that Belle or the family where she stayed in Front Royal made.

Nonetheless, it is a wonderful flag and the Boyd connection is rock solid. Verys tunning in its colors too.
