Charles,
In my Henry Cassidy file I have this -
Heller's New Orleans City Directory - 1860-1861 - Sail maker
Gardner's New Orleans City Directory - 1861 - Sail maker
Gardner's New Orleans City Directory - 1870 - Cassidy and Miller - sail makers
Newspapers -
Galveston (TX) News (8/27/1852) - ad for his business - Tent Awning & Flag Manufactory
Eastern Clarion (Paulding, MS) (4/18/1860) - ad for his business (according to this the business was established in 1837)
New Orleans Daily True Delta (4/30/1862) - ad for his business
New Orleans Picayune (9/23/1860) - sad article on the death of his son, David - killed in a building fire
Memphis Appeal (published then in Jackson, MS) (4/9/1863) - ad for his tent making business (he also made tents along with flags in New Orleans in 1861)
Miscellaneous information:
Alabama Governors Papers, 1861 - Cassidy made flags, haversacks and tents for state troops
Cassidy also sold flags to the state of Louisiana (invoices to be found in his Citizens & Business file)
Cassidy left New Orleans sometime after its fall in April 1862 and moved to Jackson, MS forming a firm called Cassidy & Poole, making tents.
That's all that I have for him.
