So if I read this right this would mean that the Dabney Guards were Co. D, 3rd Battalion Hilliard's Legion and then CO. C, 60th Alabama Infantry which is what they morphed into (along with some companies of the 1st Battalion). I did find the Dabney Guards in another source state theyw ere Co. C of the 6th Alabama so you find corroborates that and tells us the company letter of the 3rd Battalion.
