Spangler for 12 months, paid $50 bounty, appointed Color Corporal, n.d., recorded on August, 1862 Regimental Return as detailed Color Guard, killed in battle before Corinth October 3, 1862

Remarks: Served in M. S. G. as Lieut., Co. D, 2nd Regt. Cavalry, 8th Division. Engaged Dry Wood, Lexington, Elkhorn, Farmington, Iuka, Corinth. Mortally wounded in the head by mini ball, and died at Iuka, Miss. October 10[13], 1862
