Michigan capture of CS flags at New Madrid

Hope I am not dreaming this but in my research of 11th Arkansas Infantry, I am almost certain I found some snippet that stated some of the first troops into Ft Thompson were 2nd and 3rd Mich Cavalry. The actual first troops sent in on 14 Mar were a small group of the 1st US Infantry after it had been abandoned. At any rate, I am almost certain I found somewhere info about the Michigan Cav being some of the first as well. A flag returned to Arkansas captured by Michigan troops in 1862 would have to have been obtained by these two cavalry regiments. Even though it was erroneously attributed to the 9th who crossed the river to Belmont but did not lose its flag. I cannot find my notes on this snippit and have reread the OR's regarding New Madrid to no avail, but if anyone else has ran across that info I would be much obliged to receive it.

Thank You.
