Ken: The company, which formally organized in January, 1861, became part of the 1st Cavalry Battalion, 5th Division, Missouri State Guard. The letter designation of the company is unknown. The company disbanded, Routt resigned, and the men scattered about in several companies when the battalion merged into what became the 1st Cavalry Regiment, 5th Division, on September 21, the day following the surrender of Lexington.

Capt Routt, is Henry L. Routt, the man who led the force that captured the Liberty Arsenal in April, 1861. After he resigned he eventually took the oath to the Federal government.
