I was going to add that Ebay is a great site on hundreds of Civil War Regimental Histories. Personally, Amazon prices are very high, for an example, they were selling the 26th Wisconsin's regimental history book for around $125. I found the same book for $55 dollars on Ebay. You never know what you will find on Ebay, an average regimental history book will generally run for $50 dollars to $150. Depends if it is a first issue, second issue (Second Print) or a independent book author. The Library of Congress, has many regimental histories, Union/Confederate, but they are missing many that their computer database claims to have.
Used book stores are always a gem. Never know what you may find. It's rare, I will find a great book in a popular book store. Gettysburg is another option, I have bought great books there. Harper's Ferry, Fredericksburg, Richmond, etc.
Good luck on the hunt!
