Thanks for the compliments. That flag always felt weird to me having a naval connection to a warship but it makes sense when you look at the naval units around Richmond fighting as infantry and the CS Marines as being the probable sources of the flag. The historian at Richmond NBF and John Coski who wrote about the James River Squadron concur with my analysis by the way. We cannot 100 per cent prove it came from Tucker's Naval Brigade or the battalion of CS Marines but it makes much more sense than being a flag of the CSS Nansemond.
