October 1, 1864, gunshot wound in battle September 30, right ankle, minie ball, furloughed for 30 days October 15, 1864, admitted Hood Hospital, Cuthbert, Ga. January 21, 1865, wound unhealed, small ulcer at entrance & exit of ball, still in hospital February 1, 1865, recorded at home February 28 pending application for leave of absence, wound subsequently reported as entirely healed, contraction of tendon achillis still remaking with inability to properly use the foot, furloughed for 60 days February 25, 1865, no further records
