Ben,

1) Please stop assuming the worst if nobody jumps right in with comments. I have lots of things to do other than hang out on this board all the time and I am sure that many others do as well.

2) Glad that you were able to post the flag's picture.

3) I think the flag was carried through the Tennessee Campaign of November-December 1864 and was "taken" at probably Nashville by the Indiana artilleryman from whose family it came much later.

4) The fact that the units were changed in terms of their designation during and before the Atlanta Campaign leads to the elimination of the unit designation of the "3nd & 45th Mississippi" that was originally on the white disc. Sadly, this removal also took off the crossed cannon battle honors under that.

5) Williamson has some flag mistakes in his book.

A very nice flag indeed.
