He has some flag mistakes in the book, among them the issue of Hardee flags exclusively to Cleburne's Division being in 1863 instead of 1864.

The 16th Alabama flag he cites was issued in September 1864 and taken at Franklin and it not only had the unit designation but also the crossed cannon honors.

Hardee flags were made in the field and if they had time to paint honors they could have but of those issued in September 1864 that survive none have honors including a 33rd Alabama (post-Franklin issue actually - totally unmarked), 54th Georgia (unit designation only), 16th Alabama (save the cannons) and there could have been honors for a number of Atlanta Campaign battles and were not.
