Greg,
Thank you very much for the histories of the Cassidy Flag design. The source for the 7th TX receiving a flag while they were at Woodville, MS was a letter written on May 10th, 1863, Jackson, MS by Capt K M Van Zandt, 7th TX to his wife. I will be at the Texas Civil War Museum in Fort Worth on May 21 with Joe Walker and would be glad to bring a copy of the letter for your references. I look forward to meeting you!

One other ANV flag design I wanted to ask you about is the 49th AL. I understand this design was used by some of the western armies from 1863 to the end of the war.
