Took some work, but I found a citation. Tough luck for a Brick Layer. Still believe it would be worthwhile to
see his pension application to validate his wounding.

Sumpter, of Hot Springs, who had enlisted as a private in Jester's company, was made captain. Thomas C. Scott, of Little Rock, was color sergeant, and lost an arm."
