The records do not show Thomas as a Color Sergeant and that he served till war’s end. There is one card for an H. Scott who was wounded in the arm at Thompson’s Station.

Something wrong here. I cannot locate Thomas in a post war census, but perhaps in 1900 as Thomas J. A Policeman.
