Decided to do some further digging in my files....

WD-333; MOC Labeled as 12th North Carolina Infantry Flag, (previously listed as 12th Virginia) captured at Sailors Creek on April 6th 1865 by Sgt. Francis Cunningham, 1st WV Cav. (MOH awarded for same)

12th North Carolina at Sailors Creek; was in Johnsons Brigade, Earlys Division, Gordons 2nd Corp. ANV.
They would have been engaged against the Federal 2nd Corp in the fight at Locketts Farm-Double Bridges segment of the Battle of Sailors Creek.

1st West Virginia Cavalry accounts have it engaged in support of the Federal 6th Corp in the segment of action that occurred at the Hillsman Farm, several miles distant.
