4th Alabama Regimental Colours

Hello Gentlemen,

Flag information sometimes can turn up in the strangest places On a forum dealing primarily with Japanese aviation in the Second World War mention was made of a regimental flag of the 4th Alabama that was/is on display in a case at the battalion headquarters of the 1/167th Infantry (Mechanized) in Bridgeport, AL.

As part of Law’s Brigade in late 1862 the 4th Alabama is presumed to have acquired a Third Bunting battle flag similar to that of the 2nd and 11th Mississippi, with the battle honours Manassas, Seven Pines, Malvern Hill and Gaines Farm painted in gold in each of the flag’s four obverse quadrants. Is this by any chance the flag in Bridgeport?

Or is this a completely different regimental flag. If anyone has any further information I would appreciate hearing the details.
