Just a note ... the flag that is now in the Lyon County Historical Society Rose Hill Museum in Eddyville, said to be a flag of Cobb's Battery, is a post-war reproduction of an ANV-style battle flag. Some sources say this is the flag that was saved after the war and given to Frank Gracey. Records do show that Julian Gracey gave this flag to the UDC in 1927, but it's not a wartime flag.

One source for the story about the flag made from silk dresses being presented after the battle of Jackson is a nearly illegible typewritten memoir in the Paducah Library. This memoir is undated but a note at the top says "This paper was written from information given by Mr. Julian F. Gracey from what his Father had told him." I don't know what became of this flag, but it's not the flag that Julian Gracey gave to the UDC in 1927, and is in the museum today.
