An Old Flag Goes Home
An old, torn, shot pierced Confederate flag, one of the last of the state of Illinois, has been taken from the wall of Memorial hall in Chicago and formally returned to the 13th Regiment of Virginia Volunteers. The flag was captured at the battle of Poolville in 1862 by the Eighth Illinois, and now occupies an honored position at the headquarters of the gallant regiment from whom it was captured during the war between the states.
