Cool, thanks, Josh. I figured I better start early on this research. The 150th re-enactment is not until September of '13 (Sept. '63) We use the date of the 2nd Battle of Sabine Pass, but generally re-enact the 1st Battle from '62. The 2nd battle was pretty much strictly naval gunboats vs. the Davis Guards in Ft. Griffin. Hard to find Federal gunboats (i.e. converted paddlewheel New York harbor ferries) these days, so we recreate the invasion by land forces in '62 in which the 75th New York took part. It was a pretty hard faught battle to be so small. The 75th reported 86 casualties. An outbreak of yellow fever brought in that fall by a British blockade runner convinced the Federals that it was time to leave and go back to New Orleans.
