Thanks to you and others for realizing this "thread" is off-topic; however, as you say it is an interesting discussion and as long as this and other off-topic discussions do not dominate or continue with too great frequency, I want to allow such discussions.

One of the problems for me, in removing or relocating the discussion, is that we don't have a site where this discussion would be appropriate. I'm going to be expanding the number of state/territory and special-interest sites soon, so how about some suggestions on the name/description of a new message board to discuss this type of information?

Also, any other Civil War-related discussion site recommendations are most welcome.
