What information do you have on the issuance of flags to Charles Fields Div. in the spring of '64. The FOTC website indicates that "there is strong evidence that Major-General Field's Division of Longstreet's Corps may have received a full set of the new battle flags as well" referring to the 4th Bunting issue. I am trying to determine what the 15th Alabama carried at the end of the war. One source I've seen indicates that the flag they carried at Gettysburg (probably a 2nd or 3rd bunting issue) was burried with the flag bearer after the war, but another source I've seen indicates that the flag buried with the flag bearer was the flag they carried at Appomattox. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
