I don't have a dropbox account, but I have access to a number of places where I can download the book once I have the title...I might even have it already, but I'm always looking for more sources. My guess is it was probably "REGEMENTAL COLORS IN THE WAR OF THE REVOLUTION" by Gherardi Davis that you came across, but I'll find out when you locate it I guess. If I remember right, he goes into the explanation of what was being decided for the few flags left from the Revolution. Even though some do end up at West Point, it was only a small fraction of those that we actually captured (land combat). A good many were housed in Washington and burned in fires (I want to say when the city fell to the British, but it may have been regular accidental fires...I'd have to go back and check).
