In today's Houston Chronicle there is an opinion piece about the use of the CSA battle flag on personalized license plates. The TX SCV has requested their logo be available as a fund raiser for them.
The opening statement reads: "The Confederate battle flag never flew over Texas, but if Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson gets his way, you may soon see it on our license plates."
I want to respond to this erroneous statement but want to be sure of my facts, unlike the author.
Technically, the battle flag never flew over any state, did it? It was not an official CSA flag, but a flag of ANV.
