The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Department of Massachusetts has a project to place replicas in Doric Hall (Hall of Flags) at our State House. We'd like to conduct a return of the colors during December 2015. The originals were returned on December 8, 1865.

I've seen the replicas in Maine. I wasn't prepared for the vibrant colors after seeing so many faded originals. It was well worth the trip to Augusta to see these. Some of the originals are in the Maine Museum, which is across the parking lot from the Maine State House.
