I can see that as a use. If you made them why not use them for something else if the original intention wasn't working.

It just amazes me that Georgia Governor Joe Brown thought that pikemen would really matter in the musket era. Perhaps he had been reading too much about Swiss pikemen of the 1500s at the time.
