In the 80's I was a paramedic in the city, one of our area stations was at 26th and Broad.. inside the old Bakery livery stable across from St.Johns.. As a young historian it was great since I could park anywhere.. and spent idle time all around Richmond in the various museum archives.. and seeking out various old buildings and locations of historical interest. Also be one of the first to go see something when something new was uncovered when they were digging for construction around the city... The battaeu boats found in the old turning basin.. Segments of the old Richmond Depot complex... QM supplies, and uniform fragments found buried deep in the rubble. The good ole days...lol.
