Speaking only for myself, I really wish you would answer our questions about the provenance of the flag in question. If you don't have the answer to reasonable questions, a simple reply of "I don't know" or request for clarification is okay. It's also an opportunity to ask someone else and/or research at particular point. Results should be useful to all parties concerned.

On a personal note, my blood pressure readings are better when I'm not trying to prove a point or pursuade someone else to accept my opinion. After assembling the available facts on any given issue, we ought to be able to enjoy a reasonable discussion about how to interpret them, and learn something new in the process. IMHO, that's a good use of time.
