Re: ACC buttons - dispelling a myth

My wife and I are also UA alumni, amateur historians and metal detectorists. Over the past year and a half we have dug up a total of 27 "ACC" buttons at a homestead in north Tuscaloosa county. After extensive land patent and genealogy research we found only one cadet with connection to the property, a local Doctor who was a med student at the UA in the early 1900s. We believe the coat was placed on a scarecrow at one time and were scattered by plow. These all bear the backmark: "SCOVILL MF'G CO WATERBURY" no stars between, dm. I have seen at least two other Scovill variations on buttons. If you would, Whitney, contact me via email or find me on FB. I would love to discuss your knowledge on these further.. johnc.harris1701@gmail.com
