Thank you R.D for your response but a reproduction is just that it well never be any thing ales yes you can take it right of the box and be able to shoot it. But when you converted a original spencer carbine you keep all the old parts. Now you not only can enjoy being able to shoot a 150 year old carbine. But now you can put it back to original any time you like. I am working on a well used 1864 spencer carbine there are no stamped markings left on the receiver or the stock now in its original condition the value on todays market is about $1,600 to $1,800 with the conversion to center fire well over $2,000 . not that I well ever get read of in my life time.
