I have a M 1860 Spencer carbine 56 56 with 6 grooves.
This piece has serial No. 32873 on the receiver and on the underside of the barrel. From my reading, I believe it could have been part of a government contract delivery in late August 1864. Does anyone else have any information regarding the history of this serial number series.?
